What do I need a reset chip for with the CM4730?
The printer manages page counters/status via the cartridge chip. After refilling or refurbishing, the reset chip restores the counter so that fill levels are detected correctly and blocks are avoided.
Do the reset chips fit all models in the CM4730 series?
Yes, the Q6460A–Q6463A chips are suitable for the entire CM4730 series – please note the correct color assignment (BK/C/M/Y).
How do I safely replace the reset chip?
Switch off the printer, remove the cartridge, carefully detach the old chip and insert the new one in the identical orientation (do not touch the contact surfaces). Then switch on the device and print a test page.
