What do I need reset chips for with the CLJ 5550?
The printer manages page counters & status via the cartridge chip. After refilling or refurbishing the cartridge, the reset chip restores the counter so that fill levels are detected correctly and blocks are avoided.
Does the C9732A reset chip (yellow) fit all 5550 models?
Yes, the C9732A/645A chips are suitable for the entire HP Color LaserJet 5550 series (5550/n/dn/dtn/hdn) – please note the color assignment.
How do I safely replace the reset chip?
Switch off the printer, remove the cartridge, carefully detach the old chip, insert the new chip in the same orientation (do not touch the contact surfaces). Then switch on the device and print a test page.
Which maintenance parts are relevant and when should they be replaced?
